As part of a long term vision of investing time and tools to develop and enrich the community around us, TowerJazz is involved in many public service activities.
Corporate citizenship is an integral building block of our success. Our community involvement through employee volunteer services and financial support of non-profit organizations helps create a positive impact on our community by adding value to the quality of life in surrounding areas.
In addition to the organizational motivation that is created when employees gain confidence through being given the tools and opportunities to meet big challenges, we believe that the gracious spirit that is built through one-on-one service is critical to the unity and motivation of our employee base. In most instances of community service, TowerJazz donates funds matched by employees donating their personal time.
Our R&D teams at all manufacturing locations, contribute to university graduate research by providing free of charge silicon processing; "MPW shuttles" to multiple university research groups, in the US, Israel and Korea, where our management and research staff, additionally, contribute time and expertise as mentors and lecturers.
TowerJazz offers internships at all locations, providing summer paid employment and thesis projects to students from top universities within the respective location's nation. Recently we have extended outreach into Asia for internships within the Israeli design center.
At all locations, we have an active university level intern program, providing summer paid employment and thesis projects to students from top universities within their respective location's nation. Most recently we provided outreach into Asia for internships within the Israeli design center.
In Israel, the Arab population constitutes 20% of the general population, but only 1-2% of the high-tech personnel. Many of the brightest Arab high school graduating students choose career fields within medicine and law, where they believe they may have greater control over their career progression, rather than within technical disciplines where they may be particularly gifted. In order to bring these exceptional Arab students into high-tech, TowerJazz began a program offering internships to students in the graduating class of top Arab high schools in Nazareth.

As part of TowerJazz's community outreach program in Israel, we donate funds to the Global Awareness Investigation and Action (GAIA) project, an international environmental research project involving middle and high school students as "scientific researchers and policy developers" working on environmental projects. Female students in GAIAjr from the US, China, South Korea, India, Germany, Israel, and Nigeria that currently attend the American International School in Israel traveled to Migdal Haemek to visit our facility. Our CEO, Russell Ellwanger and a number of leading female scientists at TowerJazz met with the students to share their stories and passion for science.
TowerJazz's engineering staff is made up of 45% women and this is not by accident. Over the course of the day, it became evident that this trip was as much about fulfilling dreams as it was about science. According to GAIA, the girls walked away with an appreciation for being curious, learning every day, and recognizing that success is often the result of helping others succeed.

We hosted, for the second time, “eCamp,” an international English speaking summer camp in Israel focused on technology, media arts and gaming for children and teens ages 7-18, from 30 different countries, who come together to develop their creative and tech skills and to explore the wonders of Israeli innovation.
A group of over 200 youngsters visited our manufacturing facilities in Migdal Ha’emek, Israel.
Their visit consisted of meetings with our leading engineers, from which they learned about TowerJazz’s advanced solutions and our unique and specialized technologies. Later the group visited our production line gallery while experiencing how it is to wear the “bunny suit” and got familiar with our manufacturing process.
This visit provided a magnificent experience for the kids and teens as well as our employees, who were amazed by the excitement and interest of this young and enthusiastic group. We intend to continue this rewarding cooperation with eCamp in the upcoming years, while supporting and believing in the younger generation and understanding the important influence of their education to the future of society and the semiconductor industry.

At TowerJazz, we believe in contributing to neighboring communities while emphasizing the importance of education in order to provide opportunities to residents that will benefit society. In January 2012, a Multidisciplinary Center for Learning opened in Migdal Haemek, Israel after a financial contribution of $100,000 US dollars provided by TowerJazz. This donation was the largest of the contributions received and serves to demonstrate TowerJazz's strong connection and responsibility to the local community.
The Multidisciplinary Center for Learning provides services for children between the ages of 6-12 and focuses on children at risk, with learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities, and/or social issues who may require different teaching methods according to their needs and based on professional recommendations. At the Center, students receive therapies such as movement therapy, art, music, drama, personal training and interaction with animals. Children also receive enrichment classes and help with homework. In addition, students receive didactic service which is provided by a professional diagnostician assigned by the municipal authority and the Ministry of Education.
TowerJazz will continue its support of the Multidisciplinary Center for Learning with an optional activity during the upcoming summer school vacation that will be performed voluntarily by TowerJazz employees.
We, as TowerJazz employees, declare that we believe that the quality of our lives and our work are based on personal and shared efforts, and therefore vow to respect and uphold it within the spirit of our company's values and goals: We take upon ourselves to act responsibility at all times, to be involved with and to improve our environment to create a welcoming atmosphere with a positive, health, and safe climate. With the understanding that we all share the responsibility for our physical and social surroundings, we agree to sustain both public and private space and nurture them by setting an example and taking personal responsibility. We commit ourselves to strive together within the areas of our responsibility to maintain a sustainable habitat that integrates ecological and social thinking, in order to protect and preserve our environment for us and for future generations.
Organizations that we proudly represent include: Orangewood Children's Foundation; Susan G. Komen for the Cure; Ronald McDonald House Charities; The Feeding America Organization; Santa for Seniors, and Share Ourselves for the Thanksgiving Holiday (SOS), which provides free services to families including medical and dental care, counseling, food, clothing, and financial assistance.
TowerJazz has "adopted" youth from three youth clubs, assisting them by donating money for computers, furniture and other items, with our employees donating time for tutoring and other activities.
We fully fund and monitor an early primary education program in Migdal Haemek which identifies children with learning disabilities and then works with the children, their parents and their educators to correct or augment the learning style before a long term negative impact is realized in the child's academic development. This is perhaps the single program where funds are given without a 'matching' contribution of our employees' time.
Our employees take part in community activities including: collaboration with nature environment organizations, retirement institutions, working on buildings requiring renovation, preparing food packages for families in need, and blood drives, among others.
